China Movie Channel Program Center is a member of China Film Group. It officially launched its CCTV-6 Movie Channel, the first and only nationwide professional movie channel in China in 1996. In 2004, a domestic pay TV channel China Home Cinema and a North American China Movie Channel were also launched. In 2005, China Movie Channel started airing in Hong Kong, and in 2006, another two channels, the CHC-HD Movie Channel and the CHC Action Movie Channel, were added to the program list. Meanwhile, the Center has also started to provide VOD service in China and has transformed itself into a program platform of multi-channels of high standards. CCTV-6 now airs on a daily basis 10 Chinese and imported feature films as well as a variety of animated movies, documentaries and special topic programs with a nationwide viewership of 852 million, ranking it as one of the top Satellite TV channels in China in terms of ratings and market share.
