Sometimes Farmer Wang Zhao goes fishing in a nearby river and occasionally he rescues drowning people from the water. These actions have become part and parcel of his simple life, so he’s never thought of being rewarded. One day he rescues two more people from drowning, and the county decides to honor him for his bravery. But then his honor and award are taken away because he is said to have used his fishing net to help the victims. Wang feels cheated and goes to all levels of the authorities to secure for himself some true justice.
