Taylor is a famous film director who is fond of China. During the shooting of a film on location in China, he makes friends with You You, the Chinese photographer working for him. Later, when Taylor becomes critically ill, You You must keep the promise he has made to him -- to arrange for Taylor a grand but comical Chinese traditional ceremony-a merry funeral. Despite complications, You You's wisdom turns the whole process of the funeral into a comedy.
