Exploring the Sun (kai cai tai yang)

The story takes place in the 1990s. The state-run Sun Town Coal Mine is an advanced work unit, but the pollution problem has always been a headache for the coal mine manager. He decides to put Wang Zhigang, an experienced technician and also a graduate of the Coal Mining University, in charge of harnessing the coal dust. Assuming office, Wang Zhigang unexpectedly finds out that the fiancée of Feng Baobao, a promising member of his research group, is his former lover, and Liang Jianxin, who is responsible for blasting in the coal mine, is his brother, whom he has had no news for more than 30 years… Eventually Wang Zhigang succeeds in the experiment of lowering the cola dust level.
