By ChinaFilm.com Published: 2008-04-25
It is the early 1930s in Japanese-occupied Harbin. An old red-slated building is said to be haunted. During a night patrol, young detective Feng Jiangchu discovers that two people were murdered in the building. His curiosity aroused, Feng decides to sneak in and discover the truth. Many people seek to prevent him. In actuarial fact, the building contains a cache of weapons and ammunition, which the anti-Japanese soldiers did not have time to bring with them when they were compelled to withdraw. A Japanese official intends to use them as bait in an effort to lure Chinese soldiers into his trap. Meanwhile, the anti-Japanese organization is making arrangements to recapture the arms. Once he understands the situation, Feng Jiangchu cooperates with the anti-Japanese organization. They not only seize the weapons, but manage to capture the Japanese official as well, finally exposing the secret of the “haunted house”.
