By ChinaFilm.com Published: 2008-05-06
Wu Fei is a businessman so tied up with chasing up payments that he neglects his wife Zhao Hong. One day he rescues a girl called Lin Xiaomei, who lost her boyfriend after leaving home to escape an arranged marriage. Xiaomei’s arrival at Wu’s home causes trouble. A large sum of money belonging to Zhao Hong, is stolen, and then Xiaomei is hospitalized for an abortion. Zhao thinks Xiaomei was responsible and takes it out on her husband Wu Fei, so much so that the couple get swept up into a whirlwind of divorce. With the help of Wu Fei, Xiaomei later recovers and finds her boyfriend Youngsheng. When they’re about to leave for home, Xiaomei spots a large sum of money in Yongsheng’s bag. She thinks Yongsheng has stolen the money, and feels so ashamed, she attempts suicide. Wu Fei’s persuasion saves her from death. In the course of these dramas, Zhao Hong discovers her husband is, after all, a fine man and the couple is reunited.
