The Nanpu Bridge (qing sa pu jiang)

This film tells the story of the men who build the Nanpu Bridge and of their families. Luo Dawei, the leader of the construction brigade, is busy working on the construction site. His wife doesn’t understand him. Chen Hui, a young worker, is in love with Song Li, but doesn’t know that Song Li has a fatal illness. But their family problems and the difficulties they have with their work don’t discourage them. They work hard and complete the bridge on time. The Nanpu Bridge is a symbol of the rising of Shanghai.
