This film was adapted from a popular folk song. During the Second World War the Japanese invaders ruthlessly slaughtered ordinary Chinese people. Witnessing the Japanese kill his follow villagers, among them his own parents, Little Cowherd conceives a deep hatred for the invaders and makes up his mind to avenge his dear ones.
