Tao Jing, editor of the magazine “New Dance”, has placed a personal ad on television and in the newspapers on behalf of his close friend Jin Fan, who is first mate of an oceangoing freighter. They choose three women from the thousands who reply – postgraduate student Zhu Hong, painter Dan Qing and fashion model Mimi.
