Wang Shuangling, with her weak constitution, starts her teaching career in a Class 4-2 with the worst reputation at her school. Despite her doctor’s warning, she devotes herself completely to the children. She encourages all her students to overcome their difficulties: Lu Ming who has lost one leg, Liping who almost committed suicide for lack of family tenderness, Xiaopeng whose parents were jailed for gambling… She works relentlessly to restore her pupils’ reputation but winds up having a heart attack.
