The well-known writer He Yu dies of poison all of sudden. Young police officer Fang Kaiping takes up the investigation into his death – is it a murder or suicide? He Yu’s lover and his divorced wife hold opposite opinions about his death. And He Yu’s daughter, He Xiaoyang, in a reform school, suddenly leaves in a hurry. After a thorough investigation, Fang learns that He Yu also wrote pornographic works, as a result of which, his daughter sank into prostitution. What directly led He Yu to commit suicide was his finding out the truth about his daughter. Fang ends the case with a heavy heart.
