A Romantic Station (feng liu xiao zhan)

The story revolves around the transportation reforms. Director Yao of the Gaotanxiang State Passenger Transport Station fails to secure a contract under the new enterprise system so business continue as before. The workers are slack and disinterested and the transport station goes from bad to worse. The company cannot ever afford to pay the worker’s bonus. Zhang Zhang, a peasant entrepreneur, sets up a small transport company, just opposite the state transport station. Adept all business, his company flourishes even though he only has a few vehicles. Though using every means available to her Director Yao is unable to compete. She is dismissed from her position because she sells an old truck to pay the worker’s bonus. Zhang Zhang becomes the director of the state transport station and his management skills bring the dying station back to life.
