The Red Cross Will Witness (hong shi zi zuo zheng)

In Xi’an a boy called Liu Yi is injured in a traffic accident. Yu Xuecheng, a medical expert tries every means to save the boy’s life, only find that his brain has ceased functioning, althought his heart is beating. This extraordinary phenomenon gives Yu a daring idea – to transplant the boy’s kidneys to other dying children who suffer from kidney failure. Yu’s plan wins support from the authorities at the Shenzhen United Children’s Kidney Disease Treatment Center, as well as the understanding of Liu Yi’s mother. But many people, including the boy’s father strongly oppose the idea. Amid the clash between traditional and modern ideas, the operation proves successful.
