In 1644, in order to restore the Ming Dynasty and resist the Qing Dynasty, peasant rebel leader Li Zicheng led his troops towards the south. On their way, at Mr. Jiugong in the east of Hubei province, they were attacked by the Qing army. Li then disappeared. Fierce fighting ensues between them… At this critical juncture, military counselor Gu of the rebel troops uses a stratagem to get Li Zicheng of danger. Failing to escape from a trap set by Li Zicheng, Ma Zhong, Leg and the Qing soldiers are all burned to death in the reed marshes.
