Zhu, a rich landowner, wishes to take advantage of his birthday celebration to choose a husband for his only daughter, who is skilled in the martial arts. Hearing this news, kungfu hero Duan Feixiong send his son Duan Yu with the famous Severn-Star Sword to congratulate Zhu on his birthday and ask for the hand of his daughter. On his way, Duan Yu is attacked several times by an evil beggar and a woman burglar, and is nearly killed. Luckily he gets help from a girl named Hua Huafeng, and gets to know that the Qinglong gangsters have been trying to lay traps to kill Duan Yu because of Duan Feixiong’s refusal to co-operate with them.
